Police Officer-Lateral

$107,310 - $130,436 Annually (with Incentives*)

*Salary includes: 3.5% Cost of Living Adjustment (eff. 8.13.23), 5% Education Incentive (AA or above), 2.5% Post Intermediate, 6% Post Advanced Lateral Officer starting step based on experience

The Tracy Police Department is a full-service department where patrol officers respond to calls for service, conduct complete investigations, identify and investigate suspicious activity, and demonstrate strong report writing and customer service skills.  New Police Officers typically start on patrol working 4-eleven hour work days (4/11 schedule).   The Department encourages personal growth.  Special assignments are available once employee status becomes permanent.

Incentives


• 2.5% for Intermediate POST Certificate
• 3.5% for Advanced POST Certificate
• 5% for Associate of Arts degree (or higher) in Police Administration or related field
• 2% bilingual pay

Special Assignment opportunities


• Detectives (5% Incentive Pay)
• School Resource Officer (5% Incentive Pay)
• Neighborhood Resource Officer (5% Incentive Pay)
• Special Investigations (5% Incentive Pay)
• K-9 Officer (12 Hours of OT per month)
• Motorcycle (8 Hours of OT per month)

Additional non-compensated collateral duties include:
• SWAT
• Crisis Negotiation
• D-Tac Instructors
