Police Officer-Lateral

$98,443.85 - $119,659.68 Annually (with Incentives*)

*Salary includes 5% Education Incentive (AA or above), 2.5% Post Intermediate, 3.5% Post Advanced Lateral Officer starting step based on experience

The Tracy Police Department is a full-service department where patrol officers respond to calls for service, conduct complete investigations, identify and investigate suspicious activity, and demonstrate strong report writing and customer service skills.  New Police Officers typically start on patrol working 4-eleven hour work days (4/11 schedule).   The Department encourages personal growth.  Special assignments are available once employee status becomes permanent. 

Police Officer-Entry

$88,688.16 - $107,801.52 Annually

Police Officer Trainee

Non-Sworn

$6,426.48/Month ($37.07/hourly) While in Training Academy

The Tracy Policy Department is looking for highly motivated and well qualified candidates who seek a career in law enforcement. The Tracy Police Department pays a Police Officer Trainee a full-time hourly wage to attend a Police Academy. Essential uniforms, equipment and materials are provided. The Trainee’s progress is monitored periodically throughout the Academy. Upon successful completion the Trainee will be sworn in as a Tracy Police Officer and continue into the Field Training Program before being released to solo patrol duties. Incentives


• 2.5% for Intermediate POST Certificate
